Session managment functions that allow you to login and not have to type your password again until the next visit

Ability to Turn on/off HTML in Posts

Administrator definable ranks for users (both definably by number of posts and by individual user)
Ability to define individual images for each rank
Ability for users to change their usernames (this can be disabled by the administrator)
Robust themeing scripts. Allow you to quickly and easily change the look of your board
Ability for users to choose the theme they like the most, and for the administrator to override said choices
